Doll in a dream
An image of the person, colored by the nostalgia many adults keep for childhood. For children — girls above all — the doll commonly becomes a template of self-identification. But a doll is a puppet: it is programmed by the mechanistic social Super-Ego, which dictates the dreamer's behavior from start to finish. Worse, the image announces that the destructive program (the 'grid') is close to total dominance and has already made the person over into a robot. A wholly negative image.

What does doll mean in a dream?
In scientific dream interpretation the doll is a monitor symbol — a gauge of the dreamer's current state and of where things are heading. It is an image of the person, colored by the nostalgia many adults keep for childhood; for children, girls above all, the doll commonly becomes a template of self-identification. But a doll is a puppet: it is programmed by the mechanistic social Super-Ego, which dictates the dreamer's behavior from start to finish. Worse, the image announces that the destructive program — the 'grid' — is close to total dominance and has already made the person over into a robot. A wholly negative image. Symbols of this class describe the problem less than they show its direction of travel; read the doll alongside the dream's other symbols to see the whole picture.
